2-4-1 Sports is once again offering their Sports Academy over Spring Vacation – April 10-13 at Hall High School! It’s now known as 2-4-1 Sports Academy P.L.U.S (Physical Literacy United States). Similar to the immensely popular summer program (www.241Sports.com), the 2-4-1 PLUS 2017 follows a modified format. It is a great way for kids to stay active and discover the advantages of physical literacy infused multisport participation over their vacation.
At 2-4-1, we’re all about serious fun! Using the 2-4-1 Crossover Effect™, young athletes recognize that by playing, even during their down time, they can reduce injury and burnout. The helps kids unlock their inner-athlete. Come see why so many are riding the 2-4-1 wave and recognizing that “Life’s 2 Short 4 Just 1 Sport™”.
All athletes choose from 2 of 4 sports: (Soccer, Basketball, Track/Fitness or Ultimate/Flag Football).
This year’s staff will include:
Soccer – Coach Scott Ferguson (Former Boston College star, and current Hall Varsity coach).
Basketball – Brittany Huggins, former Division 1 basketball standout and current Windsor High School coach.
Track/Fitness – Jack Murphy – former Northwest Catholic standout, Jack has been a multi-sport athlete his whole life. Baseball and football are among his favorites but he spends his days training and coaching young athletes for all sports. Coach Jack enjoys helping kids learn fundamental movement skills through sport and play.
Ultimate/Football – Frank Robinson (Hall’s head varsity football coach, current Hall PE teacher and former varsity lacrosse coach).
Junior 2-4-1 – Lily Donatelli– Our Director of Sport Sampling, Lily Donatelli, is excited to help kids stay “active for life” by instilling in them the same love for sport sampling she developed at an early age by playing soccer, basketball, softball, and lacrosse throughout her youth growing up in West Hartford, CT. A graduate of Loyola University Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree concentrated in Music, Lily helps to incorporating music and movement into the physical literacy programs she works to develop for the National Association of Physical Literacy (NAPL).
Counseling Support Staff – HS and college players from throughout the region that are required to participate in more than one sport in order to be hired for the camp.
Note that basketball will be played outside some days at Eisenhower park across the street from Hall High School. For the most part – all other activities will be played outdoors.
Please email your choices to Coach Boyle at Steve@241Sports.com. Attendees will then be assigned to two 90 minute sessions each day with a fifteen minute break in between to transition.
Our highly experienced staff of college and high school coaches, along with numerous current high school and college athletes, will offer a fun and challenging program with a staff/camper ratio that blows away the competition at similar camps.
(We will play outdoors in most weather conditions. Please plan to dress accordingly).
Session 1: 8:45 to 10:15
Break: 10:15 to 10:30
Session 2: 10:30 to 12:00
