At 2-4-1, we believe in playing sports like they were meant to be played. Kids should be having fun, playing hard, and learning new skills and techniques. Our highly trained staff knows the benefits of the 2-4-1 Crossover Effect because they live it.

Co-Director: Steve Boyle – also the lead partner at the Crossover Consulting Group (www.crossoverconsultinggroup.com) is a former Division 1 basketball player (Manhattan College). In NYC and Seattle, WA, he coached Steve and Kerrysoccer, basketball, track and field and x-country. In Seattle, he founded Boyle’s Cougar Hoop Camp for Girls, the largest all-girls camp in the state of Washington at the time. He was a school counselor at Hall High School in West Hartford for 15 years where he has coached Varsity basketball, track and field, freshman and JV soccer.  He is currently a counselor at King Philip Middle School, coaches youth basketball, assists with track and field at Hall High and is Partner at the Crossover Consulting Group.

Co-Director: Kerry Boyle is a former Division 1 lacrosse and field hockey player (Bucknell University). Kerry has coached basketball, lacrosse and tennis in Baltimore, NYC and Seattle, WA. She has been an Athletic Director in Seattle and is the seventeen-year athletic director at Watkinson School where she also coaches Varsity lacrosse.

Staff Members:
Jeff Billing – Sports Director
was a 3-sport athlete (XC, Indoor Track, Baseball) at Fitch HS, earning all-conference honors in each.  He then went on to play all 3 sports for his career at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After teaching and coaching for 4 years at Palo Alto HS in California, Jeff now teaches math at Hall HS where he assists with the cross-country and track programs, and is the head Varsity baseball coach.
 Ryan Radmanovich – Sports Director
was drafted by the Twins and went on to play ball for the Seattle Mariners. Not only has Ryan logged time as a Major League Baseball player, he is also a former Olympic athlete who was the starting right fielder for Team Canada in the 2004 summer Olympics.  Ryan is currently an assistant baseball coach and ice-hockey coach at Kingswood Oxford.
Ben von Mayrhauser – Sports Director
IMG_7461was a standout high school athlete at Hall High School (Football, Basketball, Lacrosse), who then went on to a Post-Graduate year at Avon Old Farms  where he was a two-sport standout.   After a year of international travel, Ben then played two sports (football and lacrosse) at Division III powerhouse Trinity College.  Ben is now coaching Football, Basketball and Baseball at Hall and was an assistant on the varsity girls lacrosse team. 
Frank Robinson– Sports Director

was a standout Hall High School football and lacrosse player who played both on the collegiate level at Springfield College. A former college football coach, Robinson is the long time Varsity head football coach at Hall, as well as the former head lacrosse coach. Currently a Physical Education teacher at Hall, he coaches youth baseball and co-directs the West Hartford Youth Lacrosse Camps.

Bryan Moretti– Sports Director

 a former All New England standout for the Eastern Connecticut State basketball program where he was a 1000 point scorer. Upon graduation, he was an assistant coach at ECSU. Bryan played baseball and basketball at Norwich Free Academy and is currently a Health and Physical Education teacher at Hall High School where he also coaches Varsity basketball and baseball, and girls soccer.

James Manning – Sports Director

is currently entering  his fourth season as the Men’s Assistant Coach at the Western Connecticut State University. Prior to starting at WestConn, Manning spent four seasons as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for the UCONN Women’s Soccer Program. James began his coaching career in 1999 at his alma mater Farmington High School (where he was a standout 3-sport athlete in Soccer, Basketball and Tennis) and he coached varsity soccer and middle-school basketball at Watkinson.  James is the Founder and CEO of ShockSock, LLC and ShockSockStore.com, a Connecticut based company catering to developing products that protect the feet of athletes from bruising, abrasions and blunt force impacts to the foot region.

 

Scott Ferguson – Sports Director

is the long-time girls varsity soccer coach at Hall High School and is also a former basketball coach at Hall.  “Ferg”, as he’s known by most, grew up in England and attended Boston College on a Division 1 Soccer Scholarship.  West Hartford’s 2011 Teacher of the Year, Ferg is also a youth coach in town as well as a highly popular English teacher.

 

 

 

Nick Colagiovanni – Sports Director

was a two-sport all-state athlete at New Britain high school (football, baseball). Nick was picked up by The Colorado Rockies as the final selection in the 2005 MLB draft.  He was an All-Northeast Conference wide receiver at Central Connecticut State University, where he is 1st all-time in various areas in the record books.  “Coach C” is now Assistant Varsity coach in football at New Britain High School, a district where he is also a physical education and health teacher. 

Kelly Perkins – Sports Director
IMG_7523 is in her twentieth year as a licensed athletic trainer, a coach and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. She has a wealth of experience training athletes from a wide range of sports, has a bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition, and has completed more than 700 hours of post graduate courses which enable her to take a truly holistic approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance enhancement. A very competitive and dedicated athlete for more than 35 years, Ms Perkins earned All-American Honors three times in high school cross-country, All New England Honors in college track and was ranked 14th in the nation for the marathon during her road racing years after college. In recent years, Kelly enjoys challenging herself by competing in trail ultra-marathons up to 50 miles in distance and charity events like the Tough Mudder at Mt Snow.
 Brittany Huggins – Sports Director

 was a standout athlete at Windsor High School in both volleyball and basketball.  Brittany earned a full athletic scholarship to attend Pace University in Pleasantville, NY where she had a very successful career by becoming the 24th player in Pace history to score 1,000 points.  She lead her team in scoring as a senior; lead the conference in 3pt FG percentage; and lead her team to the Sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA Tournament by averaging 22 points per game. Brittany was also the first in Pace women’s basketball history to be selected to the all-academic team. Brittany now attends the University of Hartford pursuing her Master in Education and she is the middle school girls’ basketball coach at Watkinson School as well as the JV basketball coach at Windsor High School.

Pillow, lisa

Lisa Pillow –Sports Director was a three sport athlete (field hockey, basketball, and track) at Granby Memorial High School, earning All-Conference and All-State Honors in field hockey. She played at the collegiate level and continues to share her love of the game by coaching in the West Hartford Youth Field Hockey League. Running has always been a part of Lisa‘s life and she continues to compete in many road and trail races each year. To share her passion for running, Lisa became a Certified Running Coach from the Road Runners Club of America and co-founded Girls in Stride, a running program for girls ages 6-14. In five years, the program has expanded from West Hartford to Glastonbury, Farmington and Newington.   Lisa is also a speech-language pathologist working with children and adolescents in a private practice in West Hartford.

 Andrew Frazer –AndrewSports Director   was a 3 sport athlete at Conard High School (football, wrestling, lacrosse)  in 2006, he was crowned the 171lb CT State wrestling champion.  He then attended Northfield Mount Hermon, where he earned another State wrestling championship, All New England and All American Honors when finishing 5th at Nationals. He went on to wrestle at Bridgewater State University. Andrew has coached wrestling at Conard High School as well as middle school girls soccer and boys lacrosse at Watkinson where he also is in charge of Upper and Lower School fitness classes.
 
 Bryan Cote –Sports Director is an author and local youth sports coach who publishes stories about losing, although as a player and coach he’s had a few wins over the years. In 2014, he coached West Hartford Little League to its first ever district baseball championship. He also coaches basketball, tennis and soccer, including as head coach at Grace Academy Middle School in Hartford.  Bryan played tennis at Bryant College, finishing 5th in the New England Championships in 1993. He coached Bishop Fenwick High School’s tennis team to the state tournament in 2000 and was a state semi-finalist at Granby High.
 Lauren Silva Sports Director was a 3 sport athlete at Wolcott High School (volleyball, basketball, softball) in 2006. Played at the collegiate level at Central Connecticut State University, and continues to share her love of the game by coaching Varsity volleyball at the school she is currently a Mathematics Instructor, Classical Magnet School in Hartford, CT. Currently a strong whistle within the College Division Women’s Officials (Field Hockey, Basketball, Lacrosse). Has been growing in field, officiating several State Championships for High School and League Championships for College.
